Pitch invader Mario Ferri had a protest message when he went inside the field 1. July:
Mario Ferri, also known as “il Falco,” has been “terrorizing stadium security” for the last four years, and now he’s moved up to the big leagues. The soccer super-fan and master of the pitch invasion stormed the field during the World Cup match between the USA and Belgium. With protests shining a spotlight on poverty and debt in Brazil, it seemed like only a matter of time before the protest spilled onto the pitch. During the match the legendary pitch invader took to the field with a shirt containing the hash-tag “Save Favelas Children.” (Favelas are the Brazilian term for urban, often impoverished neighbourhoods and communities.) Ferri has done this many times. In 2010, Wired magazine reported that Ferri ran onto fields on three different continents for both “activism..and his own amusement”. Ferri was also placed on house arrest in Italy in 2010.
I will assume that the big guys in FIFA are not among his supporters, but that is the same with them. Many people around the world are not FIFA-supporters what so ever. On the contrary: Showing FIFAs true Ianus-face is the aim of the goal in fighting them down!
